Tuesday July 27th, Mayor M. F. Smith presided at an adjourned
session of the Council, members of the council present were
F. E. Buchholz, J. R. -Chastain, W. P. Hoffman, Jr., C. C. Ham-
ilton, and S. E. Wilcox, Officers: M. L. Cates, secretary, and
Yr. R. R. Ward, Manager of Utilites.
PursuanG to the request of D . Valter S. Martin Qity health offieer,
and Fepresentatives of the Central Texas Ijealtlt Unit, headed by
Dr. G. X. Covington, tyre council roet to consider a clean up campaign
for the city to prevent tkz ?"olio from appearing in Georgetown.
After hearing'the discussions *from the several° health authorities
r'resent. a motion was made and presperly seconded calling "on the
Mayor to issue "-Irocl,ama.tion catling a clearr-up campaign and asking
all citizenZ to lend their full support of said campaig• to be out
lihed by the health authorities. The motian was 14r}animously
carried services
!Aderman J. •R. Chastain, and was y>a.ssed by the unanimous vote
of the Council
