Track;on Main Street from 3rd Street Mouth to Gllamcoek Avenue or 28th Street;on 7th Street from Timber Street East to M.K.& T.R.ailway; on Brushy Street from Month Gabriel Bridge South to M.H.& T.Railway, or Switch, and the entire length of 12th Street, against the owners of Abutting Property and against their Property, and ordering the Hearing of the Own - on of such Property,and Notice Here- of,and Fixing the Time and Place for ands Bearing BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY t7OUNC(l, OF THE CITY OF Gi.EOR- GkTUWN, TEXAS: That the City Council boa directed the improvement of 8th Street from Timber Street East to the M. K. 4; T. tmek;Main htreet from 3d Street South ,to Gllasneock Avenue or 15th Street; on 7th Street from Timber Street East to M.KA T.Railway;on Brushy Street from the South Giabriel bridge South to the M. K.& T.Track or Switch, and the entire length of 12th Street, by building up and preparing the streets, and for the treatment of oil and asphalt. Whereas, speei$eations were prepared by Mr. C. S. Glriflith, street committee- man, for said improvements and filed with the Council stating the total cost of the said improvements and propor- tion of such cost payable by owners of abutting property and the cost of such improvement per front foot of abutting property and the names of parsons, firms, corporations or, estates owning the property shutting on the proposed improvement with a descrip- tion of their property and the total) cost of such improvement to each par - eel of property and said report was eonsidertd by the Council and duly approved. Whereas, the City Council has final- ly determined to assess such part of the e0 st of said improvement against the owners of said property and against their property. 1st. That it in finally determined here- by to assess such part of the cost of said Improvement against the said owners and their property as hereinafter pro- vided, ilnd. That a hearing sball be given to the acid owners or their agents or attor- neys,all persons interested In said mat- ter as to said assessments and as to the amount to be assessed against eaeh own- er and his property and as to the ben- etits to said property from improve- meut or any other things in connection herewith which hearing shall be had in the City Bull in the city of George. town, ')texas, on the 12th day of April 1918, at 10:00 o'elock a. in., until such hearing Is fully accomplished, and at winch hearing the said owners or other persona may appear by counsel or in LIST OF PROPERTY ABUT person and offer evidence and said hearing shall be adjourned from time to time and from day to day until all such persons, their attorneys or agents shall have been given full and fair hearing, and the city secretary of the city of Georgetown, Texas, is hereby further ordered and directed to give notice of said hearing by registered letter, deposited at the postoffiee at Georgetown, Texas, addressed to the owners, their agents or attorneys, of non-resident property owners, a copy hereof and by publication hereof, as re- quired by the General Law4 of the State of Texas. 3rd. That after the said bearing said Council will, by ordinance, assess again- st the said owners of property and against their property, such sums as shall be determined to be just and equitable, and that said assessment will be made in accordance with "the front foot plan " or rule; as the frontage of the owners is to the whole frontage to be improved, provided that the said rule or play shall be determined in any case to be unjust -or inequitable, then that the Council will adopt such rule or apportionment as shall be just and equitable having in view the benefits to each owner and the burdens imposed upon them, provided that no assessment shall be made against any owner or his property in excess to the benefits to said property in the enhanced value thereof, by means of such improvement. 4th. That the city secretary of this city is hereby directed to give notice hereof by publication of this resolution, signed by htm,whieh publication shall be by advertisement inserted three times in the Williamson County Sun, a news- paper published in said city the first pubireation of which shall be at least 10 days before hearing and such further notice be given to non-resident proper- ty owners by the city secretary mailing a cosy hereof, signed by him, by regia tered mail, to each of said owners at their addresses, if known, if not known, then to their agent or attorney, if. known, which said notice shall be de• posited in the postoffiee of the city of Georgetown, Texas, ten days before the day set for said hearing. That the total cost of such improve. ment,interseetious excluded, is the sum of $19491.52. That the proportion of the whole cost which it is proposed to assess against property owners and their property is $1.2,994.35. That the amount per front foot which It is proposed to assess against each parcel of property and its owner is PO cents around court house square and 31 1-9 cents on all other streets herein designated, where no curb is re- quired on all property abutting on the Areets heretofore designated.
