VIIEREAS, under and by virtue of an order and ordinance
entered by the City Council, of the City of Georgetown, Texas,
on the 21st day of February, 1922, an election was held in
the said City on the 25th day of parch, 1922, for the purpose
of purchasing equipment for the fire department of said City; and
14,HEREAS, on the 10th day of April, 1922, the same being
a regular session of the City Council, of the said City of

Georgetown, Texas, there came on to -be considered the returns
of said election so held in the sAid City on the 25th day of
Mar,ph, 1922, to determine whether or not the bonds of said
Cityoshould be issued in the sum of Fifteen Thousand($15000.00)
DCLLARS, payable forty years from the date thereof, redeemable
at any time after ten years from date thereof, and bearing in-
terest at the rate of 5 per cent per annum, payable semi-an-
nually, for the purpose of purchasing equipment for the fire
department of said City; and whether or not a tax on the One
Hundred Dollars, valuation of all taxable property in, said City,
could be levied for the payment thereof at maturity, said tax
being for the purpose of creating a sinking fund for the pay-,,„
went of said bond, and the interest thereon, at maturity; and
j.HEREAS, upon consideratinn of returns of said election,
it appears that the sp.me was in all repects legally held, af-
ter due notice thereof had been given, and that the said re-
turns were duely and legally made, and that there was cast at
the said election 596 votes, of which number 424 votes, were
cast "FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS" and 159 votes were cast "A-
GAINST THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS".
THEMFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Georgetown, Texas, that the proposition to issue said booms
and levy said tax for the purpose aforesaid was sustained by a
majority of the qualified property taxpaying voters, voting at
said election, and that the City Council of said City is au-
thorized to issue said bonds and to levy and have assessed and
collected s<,.id tax for the payment of the principal and in-
terest on the said bonds at maturity thereof.
The above resolution being read, it was moved boj the
City Councilman, Vt. H. Davis, and seconded by the City Coun
cilrnan D. K. Wilcox, that the same do pass. Thereupon, the oues-
tion being called for, the following Councilmen voted AYE: W. H.
Davis, W. R. blood, Fay Sherman, J. R. Shaer and D. K. Wilcox,
and the follo�.ing voted NO: None.
