Tke City Council met in regular session on tke above date, Mayor
t, U,r.Cv presiding. Present City Manager lee C. Black,
dermen: Altkin`, Hamilton, Hoffman Harris, Tileox. C. S. Sanders
assessor-eollector, T. H. Nunn, attorney for the city, A. P. Pickle,
M. L, Cates# secretary.
On motion of Alderman 'Vilcox, seconded by Alderman Harms, tae minutes
of meetings keld on October 13tk and tke adjourned session of October
i7tk were approved.
On motion of Alderman Hoffman the report of Manager Lee C. Black was
received and filed, and bills and accounts submitted were ordered
paid.
Reports of Tax Assessor and Collector, Treasurer and City Marshall
were received and filed.
A letter from
William R. Banes, secretary of tke Oddfellow Cemetery Committee
requesting approval of tke Council of a proposed purckase of land
just nortk of tke present cemetery , being a portion of that
now owned by Soutkwstern University, said land to be used as ad-
ditional cemetery. On motion of Alderman Hamilton, seconded by
Alderman Hoffman, the Mayor was requested to appoint a committee
to furtker consider tke above proposal. Hamilton and Wilcox were
appointed on this committee.
On Motion of Alderman Atkin, seconded by Alderman Harris, approving
tke advancement of money by the City of Georgetown for tke purckase
and removal of certain buildings from tke U.S. Govermentt now located
at Camp Swift, to be used by tke Georgetown High Schhol and otker
organizations for educational purposes as proposed by the said U. S.
autkorities.,Vt is understood tkat tke expense used for tke above
purpose does not exceed $2000.00. Tke motion carried unanimo usly.
A motion was passed approvimg tke appointment by the mayoe of A1dm@R
men Atkin and Harris to investigate the feasability of enlarging
the City Police force.
There occuring no fur tker business tke Couneil adjourned until
December 26Vvhen it will consider the enlargement of the police
force, and suck otker matters and may properly appear before
it for consideration.
