The City Council met in regular adjourned session on the above date,
Mayor George C. Hester, presiding, the following Alderman were
present: J. Thatcher Atkin, 1% P. Hoffman, Jr.,, 'Sang F. Harris, C. C.
Hamilton, and Sang E. trilcox . rfficials prsent me City Yana.ger Lee
C. 31ack; 7. H. 'Tunn, Atty. for the City; Assessor -Col. Sanders;
Harshall A. F. Fickle, City Health Officer Dr. '7alter Martin, I.T. L.
Cates, secretary.
An Amendment to the bilk Ordinance heretofore passed was offered
for reading by Ord. Com. J. Thatcher Atkin, who moved that the same
be read in full. The motion was seconded by Alderman Harris and
was passed, the following being the vote; Ayes,Atkin, Hoffman Hamilton,
Harris, Wilcox. Noes None. (See page 206A&B)
The Ordinance was veil in full by Committeeman Atkin, wko moved that
as said ordinance contained an emergency Clause, that all the uusual
rules requiring that ordinances be read at three successive meetings,
be suspended, that hereafter the said ordinance be read only by caption
and passed to the second reading. The motion carried, the following
being the vote: Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Noff"man, Harris Tilcox. Noes -None,

On Notion of Alderman Hoffman, seconded by Alderman ;Vileox, the said Ord
inance was passed to its third reading, tb.e following being the vote;
Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Tilcox. ?does. None.
Ordinance read by Caption.
On motion of Alderman Hamilton, seconded by Ald. '0ilcox, the said Ordinance
was finally passed, by the following vote: Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Hoff-
man, Harris, Wilcox. Noes None,
The Hayor declared the aff6de®aid ordinance duly passed.
An Ord. Was offered by Committeeman Atkin, providing for the granting of
permits for the operation, within said city, of public conveyances of the c
classes known as busses and taxicabs, and regulating the operation of*
suck conveyances, and providing a penalty for the violation of this
ordinance, and declaring an emergency, and he moved the said ordinance
be read in full. The motion was seconded by Ald. 'Vileox, and was carried
by the following vote. Ayes --Atkin, Hamilton, Harris, Hoffman, 7ilcox.
Noes --none.
On motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by Ald'. Hoffman, that the aforesaid
Ordinance be made to read"to be effective thirty days after passage."
The motion was carried, the following being the vote, Ayes. Atkin, Hoff-
man, Harris, 7ileox. 'Yoes.one.
The Ordinance as amended was read in full. See Exhibit One beginning with.
page 206-e:
On motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by Ald. Hoffman, that the usual rules
requiring Ord. be read in full at each successive meeting, be suspended,
that the same be read by caption, it containing an emergency cleuse, and
t=ht the same be passed to its second reading. The Ord. was read by
caption and passed by the following vote: Ayes. Atkin, Hoffman, Harris,
Wilcox. Noes. One.

On motion of Ald. Atkin, seconded by A1dFrman Wilcox, the said Ordinance
was passed to its third reading by the following vote: Ayes, Atkin,
Hoffman, Harris. Tilcox. Noes. One.
Ordinance was read by Caption; tin motion of Atkin, seconded by Ald.
Harris, the aforesaid Ordinate was passed, finally, the following
being the vote; Atkin, Hoffman, Harris, Wilcox. Noes. One.
The P1ayor declared said Ordinance duly passed by a majority of the
votes of the Council.
There occuring no further business the Council adjourned
