HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.14.1947 CC-RM Galygetown, Texas July 14th, 1947 The City Council met in regular monthly session on the above date, Vayor Protein Sam Harris presiding, the following being present: Aldermen: S. T. Atkin, C. C. Hamilton, W. P. No ffman, Jr., and S. E. Wilcox. Officials: Lee C. 31ack manager, 1. H. Nunn, Atty. for the City; C. S. Sanders, Assessor -Collector; A. P. Pickle, marshall; M. L. Cates, Secretary. On motiom of Alderman Hoffman the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. on motion of A1drrman Wilcox, seconded by Aldrrman Atkin bills and accounts, to the emount of $476.87, as presente by manager Black were approved and ordered paid . Alderman Atkin, Ord. Committeeman, offered a dog ordinance, requiring that all dogs in the city to be vaccinated and tagged, and moved that the same be read in full: the motion was seconded by Ald. :4ilcox, and by unanimous vote of the council the motion was passed. Committeeman Atkin read the ordinance in full(See page 205- insert) and after agreeable corrections to all, Ald-rman Atkin move that the said ordinance be passed to its second reading. The motion was seconded by Ald,-rman Wilcox and the same was passed b y the following vote: Ayes,Atkin, 11amilton,Hoffman, 7ilcox. Noes None. Alderman 'Vilcox moved that the usual rules for passing ordinances be suspended, because of an emergency clause contained in said Ord. that the said ordinance be pa$aad read by caption and passed to its third reading, the motion was seconded by Alderman Hoffman, and it was carried by the following vote. Ayesp Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Wilcox, Noes, none. The Ordinance was read by Caption. On motion of Alderman S. E. Silcox, seconded by Alderman C. C. Hamilton, the rules were suspended, tUa-4wd. #axkmxxaxdYbyxeaptiam. and the same wss passed finankly by the following votes Atkin, Hamilton, Hoffman, Wilcox. On motion of Ald. Hoffman, seconded by Ald. Hamilton, the Council Unanimously passed a motion , requiring a fee of $2.00 be charged for impounded dogs. On motion of Alderman Krmilton, seconded by Aad. Wilcox expensek for two fire department representatives to the Firman School at College Station was approved. No further business fmr consideration at this session, it was moved that the said Council be adjourned un til July 24th, 1947, at which time an am4endment to the milk ordinance heretofore passed, and a new Taxi and Bus ordinance be considered.
