Black, city manager: W. H. Nunn ibtorney for the city; Aldermen; J. R. Chastain, C. C. Haniltonl T. P. Hoffman, jr., Sam E. Tilcox, Sam F. Harris. Officers: C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector; A. P. Pickle,"marshall; M. L. Cates, Secretary. The Committee on a salary ordinance made a report and Ordinance Committeeman J. R. Chastain offered the following Salary ordinance and moved that it be read in full,and it was seconded by Alderman Hoffman, and was passed. Following is the ordinance': " An ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, .fixing salaries of officers of said city to be elected at the next General City Election and declaring an.T'mergency: "Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown: "That the City T!arshhll, for his duties as fire marshall and his general duties as city marshal, shall -receive a monthly salary'axxxhxx for the sum of One hundred and Thirty-five ($135.00) Dollars; and in addition thereto he shall receive the fees and compansations now fixed or that may hereafter be fixed as Corporation Court fees, for such officer. "That the City Seeretary'shall receive a monthly salary of the sum of twelve and 50/100 (12.50)dollars; and in addition tblereto he shall receive the fees that are now fixed, or -that may hereafter be fixed for.such officer as Corporation Court fees. "That the Recorder (Judge of the Corporation Court shall re- ceive a monthly salary of the sum of Ten and no/iOO 010.00) dollars and in addition thereto shall receive the fees now fixed, or that may hereafter be fixed for such officer as CorporationCourt fees. "That the City Tax Assessor and Collector shall receive for his services, one per cent forassessing Bond Funds, as shown by his tax roll, and four per cent for assessing of all other funds as shown by his tax rolls, and he shall receive one per cent for all momies collect- ed for Bond Funds, and Four "Ier Cent for collecting all other funds. I. "That'each Alderman shall receive a monthly salary of Ten and No /100 (�i�.O�) Dollars. "That tkie matter of -fixing the salaries for the offices above mentioned creates an necessity that the rules requiring that an ordi- nance be read at three separate meetings before final passage be sus- pended, and that thdssameiarachebebytsuspendedWeand this ordinance at once be passed, and ordered to take effect from and after its passage." On motion of Alderman Chastain, seconded by Alderman Harris, that the ualeal rules for passing ordinances be suspended, that the ordinance be read by caption hereafter, and be passed to its second read ing, was passed by the following vote: Ayes --Chastain, Mamilton, Hoffman, Harris, wilcox. Noes --None. On motion by Alderman S. E. Tilcox, seconded by Ald. S. E. Harris, the usual rules for passing of ordinances was suspended, and the ordinate be read by caption and passe,i to the third reading. The following being the vote. Ayes --Chastain, Hamilton, Hoffman, Harris, Tilcox. Noes --None. On motion of Ald. J. R. Chastain, sec onded by Ald. S. F. Harris, the aforesaid ordinance was finally passed., the following being the vote: Chastain, Hamilton, Hoffman, Farris, Tileox, Noes --None. The Mayor Declared said ordinance duly passed. On motion by Aldo' C.C.Hamilton, seconded by Ald. Hoffman, the Xxkixxx transfer of the original lease on land adjacent to $he Schwertner Sales Barn as given to Schwertner 73ros.' was authorized to be made to H. H. Adams, oo same conditions as heretofore existed between R. H. Schwertner and H. W. Schwertner. There appearing no further business t ouncil Adjourn d.
