The City Council me in regular session on the above date, 1!ayor
George C. Hester presiding, the following office's and aldermen
were present. Aldermen: J. R.. Chastain, T,. 73. Roffman, Jr., Sam
E. Harris and Sam E. 'Vilcox. officials. Lee C. Black, City 1.Tanager,
C. S. Sand-rs Assessor -Collector; A. F. Pickle, marshal;
11. L. Cates, Secretary.
On motion of Alderman Hoffman the minutes of the previous meeting were
approved.
Reports of utilities, etc., Tanager Lee C. 'flack were received and
filed.
Bills and accounts in the amount of 351.80 as presented by 1 -Tanager
Black were approved and ordered paid on motion of Alderman S. E.
Tilcox, seconded by Alderman S. 7E. H Tris.
On a motion made by Alderman J. R. Chastain, the Mayor was instruet-
ed.to investigate the possibility for the sale of eater 'forks Bonds
in -the amount of $15,000.00.
On motion of Alderman J. R.- Chastain, seconded by Alderman S. E. Ra-rr,s,
the Council approved the purchase for the City a ne Chevrolet auto-
mobile, by City 11anager Lee C. Black.
On motion of Alderman Sam -E. 17i'lcf, seconded by Alderman Spm E;
Harris, the Council approved the leasing of a Catterpille.r Tractor
for 12 months , to the Burnham Construction Company, with the priv-
ilege of•the city using the same when necessary,a.nd at the termi-
nation of said lease period, the said Burnham Conetruction Co.
shall have refusal of the purchase of same, the amount of previous
payments shall apply on the agreed_ purchase price.

Aeat Ordinance
Ordinance Committeeman, J. R. Chastain ''resented for reading a meat og
finance, the Caption of 77hich follows: "An Ordinance of the City of
Georgetown, Texas, empowering and making it the duty of the City
Health Officerof the sid City, for the proper inspection, stamping
and Branding of meat slaughtered, processe or hrld for dale, or
processed for sale to--donsumers in said city;' and to adopt rules and reg-
ulations therefor; and making it unlawful for any person to knowingly
sell, offer for sale, or pdssess for sale for consumption within said
City, any meat that has not been so inspecte,-Ip or that has not been
stamped, branded or labeled, showing such inspection; and -fixing a
penalty; and declaring an emergency:"
Alderman Chastain moved that the said Ordinance be read in full,
as it reads mn page 195-A this minute book. Alderman Wilcox seconded the
motions which was carried by the following vote; Ayes-- Chastain, Hoffman
Harris, '9ilcox. Noes --?Tone. Ald. Hamilton absent.
On motion of Alderman Chastain, on account of an emergency exist-
ing, all rules and regulations, requiring that ordinances be read at
three successive meetings, and that the said ordinance be read only.by
Captions be suspended, that the said ordinance be passed to the second
reading. The motion was secondee by Alderman Hoffman, and the motion
was carried by the following vote: Ayes --Chastain, Hoffman, Harris,
Wilcox. Noes. None, XID. Hamilton Absent.
Ordinance was Read by Caption; On motion of Alderman Wilcox,
seconded by Alderman Chastain, the aforesaid ordinance was passed to
its third reading, by the following vote: Ayes --Chastain, Hoffman,
Harris, Tilcox. Noes -None. Ald. Hamilton Absent.
Ordinance read by Caption. on motion.of Ald. Chastain,
seconded by Alderman Harris, the ordinance was passe' finally, by
the following vote. Ayes --Chastain, Hoffman, Harris Wilcox. Noes. Name.
Ald. Hamilton Absent.
The V`ayor Declared the said Yeat Ordinance duly and Concti-
tutionally passed, without a dissenting vote

Parking Ordinance
Ordinance Committeeman Chastain presented a Parking Ileter Ordinance,
of which the following is Caption:
and moved that the same be read in full, as on page 196-A of this
minute book. the motion was seconded by Alderman Hoofman and was
passed by the following vote; Ayes --Chastain, Hofftin4,Harris Wilcox.
Noes --None, Ald. Hamilton Absent.
On Motion of Alderman Chastain, the rules for passing ordinances,
except wherein an emergency exists, requiring that ordinances be read
at three successive meeting of the council, be suspended, and that the
said ordinance be read by captionvEIndCbii p6sbbd to the second reading.
The motion was passe by the following vote: Ayes; Chastain, Hoffman,
Harris, Wilcox. Nones--none, Ald. Hamilton Absent.
Ordinance read b y Caption:
On motion of Alderman '7ilco.T seconded by Alderman Hoffman, the Qrdiance
was passe to the third reading by the following vote: Ayes --Chastain,
Hoffman, Harris, Tilcox. "Tones. Alone. Ald. Hamilton Absent.
Ordinance Read by Caption. On motion of alderman Chastain, seconded by
Alderman Herris, the said ordiance was passe finally by the following
vote. Ayes --Chastain, Hoffman, Harris, *Vilcox. Nones. None. Ald.
Hamilton absent.
The 11ayor `declared the said foregoing ordinance duly and
Constitutionally passed.

The Tax and Revenue Commitee was requested to meet with
assessor and Collector CT S. Sanders, to prepare tax rate for the
ensuing year.
There appearing no further business the Council adjourned.
