The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
George C. Hester, presiding, the following members and officials
being present: Aldermen:,J. R. Chastain, C. C. Hamilton, 1% P. Hoffman,
jr., S. E. Wilcox and S. E. Harris. Officials; Lee 11. Black, City Manager
A. P. Pickle, marshall; C. A. Sanders, assessor and collector; Walter S.
Martin, health physicirn; sxd H. L. Cates, Secretary; To H. Nunn,
attorney for the city.
Motion byAlderman Chastain seconded by Alderman Wilcox, the minutes
of the previous meeting be approved as read.
The reports of officers Estella Byrom and Manager Lee M* Black
were received and filed.
On motion of Alderman Hoffmann alll approved bills and Accounts
were ordered paid.
A motion was, made by Alderman Sam E. Harris, which was seconded by
Alderman S. E. !Wilcox authoiring the mayor to appoint a committtee
to draw up a meat ordinance, suitable to the conditions as exist
in the City of Georgetown. The motion carried and Mayor Hester
appointed a committee as follows: 'Walter 8. Martin, City Health Officer;
W. H. Nunn, Attorney for the City; and Dr. Richey, local vetinarian.
an motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, seconded by Alderman S. E. Wilcox,
the resignation of Mayor George Co Hester, as Recorder in the Corpor
ation Court of the City of Georgetown, was accepted.
On motion of Alderman Hoffman, seconded ny Alderman Chasitin, the
Council confirmed the Appointment of Han. Luke Mankin, b y Mayor
Hester, as Recorder df the Corporation Court of said City of George-
town, to succeed Record^.r Hester,resigned.
There o ccurring no further business the Council adjourned.
