HomeMy WebLinkAboutMIN 07.08.1946 CC-R185 Georgetown, Texas July 8/1946 The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas met in regular monthly session on the above date, Mayor george C. Hester presiding. The following members of the Council being present: Aldermen, J. R. C star , C. C. H2.milton, W.' P. Hoffman, Jr., and Officers: A. P. Pickle, City Marshall 11. L. Cates secretary. On motion of Alderman Hoffman the minutes of the preceding meetings were approved. All Approved accounts were ordered paid on motion of Alderman Wilcox. A motion was made by Alderman Chastain.that the Mayor appoint a speci committee to negotiate the sale of land recently purchased of Mri,blifford Howard for the purpose of digging a well for ad- ditional water supply for the city. Yhyomotion was seconded by Alderman Hamilton and was unanimously passed. Mayor Hester ' appointed Alderman J. R. Chastain and Alderman C. C. Hamilton, and'City Manager Lee Black as the committee. A motion was made by Alderman J. R. Chastain and seconded by -Alderman C. C. Hamilton for the consummation of the sale of the airport land deemed of no further use to the city, said motion concurring with the report of the committee recommending the sale of the same. A motion was mads by Alderman T. P. Hoffman, Jr., and seconded by Alderman J. R. Chastain, that a committee be appointed by the Mayor of this city, and said committee be given -full authority to consummate the sale of the Southwest corner of the city land and property known as the Treuthardt property. The motion was unanimously.passed, end the ?%Tayor appointed as the committee, Alderman Chastain and Hamilton, and City Manager Lee Black. on motion of Alderman J. R: Chastain, seconded by Alderman W. P. Hoffman, Jr., that' the Mayor appoint an Afttdinf bqualitation to review the City Tax Rendition List, when submitted by the City Tax Assessor and Collector C. S. Sanders. The motion was passed and the Mayor appointed Messrs A. ,T. Gray, C. S. Griffith and J. W. Robertson, subsequently approved by the Council.
