The City Council met in regular session on the -above date, Mayor
I2. F. Smith presiding: the following Being Present: Be H. Cruce,
City Yanager. Aldermen F: E.'Buchholz, J.R. Chastain, C.•C. Ham-
ilton, We P. Hoffman, Jr. and S.'A: Tilcox; A. P. Pickle. city
marshal and 1:1. L. Cates, secretary.
On motion of Alderman Hamilton all approvee accounts were ordered
paid.
The report of Treasurer Estella Byrom was received and filed.
Alderman W. P. Hoffman, Jr. -and F. n' Buchholz were appointed
a committee to canvass the returns of the municipal elelction
held April -3, 1945.- The committee report the results of said
election as follaws;

The following receivint the majority of the votes cast for
their respective offices were.declared`electee::'Aldermen:" J. R.
Chastain, C. C.'Hemilton,.S. E. Wilcox: Assessor and Collector, C.S.S.
Sanders: Treasurer, Miss Estella "yrom; M.'L.'Cates, Secretary, A. P.
Pickle, City Marshall. All of whom were duly sworn in according to law
and their respective bonds approved. Also the Bond of T4oma.s Russell Tr.
was approved by the council as Deputy Marshall.
On motion of Alderman Buchholz the Mtyor was nstructed.to•obtain
further information regarding the purchase of the Treuthardt Estate
near the sewer farm.
Alderman Chastain moved -that the city contribute $250 to the summer
recreation program. The motion carried.
Alderman Chastain made a motion that'the contract -for the extensions
of the sewer lines, having been completed, that the said contract with
the Pickett Construction Company be cl-osed. The Moriom carried.
April 30th was designated by the Council as Clean-up week.
There appearing no further business the coinadjourned.
