The City Council meet -in regular session on the Pbove date] Mayor
Y. F. Smith presiding, the following being present: B. Ii. Cruce, city
manager; Aldermen; F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, C. C. Hamilton,
W. P. Hoffman, Jr. and Sam E. Wilcox. Officers: C. S. Sanders, as-
sessorm and Collector; Wayne Magill, marshal; V. L. Cates, secretary,
On motion of Alderman the minutes of the last meeting were approved.
On motion of Alerman Chastain, the officers reports were received
and filed,

Alderman Chastain, Ord. Committeeman, presented the following resolu-
tion:
"Resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Re-
linquishing all claim it may have to any street or alley run-
ning South from Twelfth Street, between the lot now owned hpd
occupied by Professor G. C. Hester, and the lot formerly owned
by R. E. :'hard, deceased, and now occupied by his surviving
wife."
"Tv =AS, a question has been reaised, as to whether there is a street -
or alley, within the City, that rune South from Twelfth Street, between
the lot in the Syyder Addition, that is now owned and occupied by Prof.
G. C. Hester, and the lot formerly owned by R? E. 'Ward, deceased, and
that is now occupied by his surviving wife, and Whereas, the city -has
never claimed that any such street or alley existed at such place, and
has never attempted to open, any street or alley at such place; and
Whereas# there is no necessity of the opening of any street or alley
at such place, Thereforeq
" BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of -the City of Georgetown, Texas,
that the City of Georgetown, relinquishes, any and all claims of any'
character, to any street or alley, running South between the aforesaid
R. E. "lard lot and the said Professor G. C. Hester lot, from the said
Twelfth Street, as aforesaid."
Passed and approved this the 12th day of February, A. D. 1945.

Alderman Chastain moved that the aforsaid resolution be passed,
Aand the motion was seconded by Alderman C. C. Hamilton, and was
passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Alderman C. C. Hamilton, -that the mayor appoint
a tax committee of two or more to confer with Assessor Sanders in
the fixing of a tax rate for the ensuing year. Tl�p motion was passed
and the mayor appointed Aldermen Hoffman and ddM . as such com-
mitteemen.
A motion was made by Alderman C. C. Hamilton that a committee be ap-
pointed to confer with Nightwatchman Russell, regarding his duties, etg
as watchman. The motion was duly seconded and passed. The mayor ap-
pointed Aldermen Buchholz and Hoffman, and City manager B. H. Cruce
on said committee.
A motion was made by Alderman Hamilton, seconded by Alderman Buchholz
that all office employees of the ;"later and Light Department be bonded
ih the sum of $1000.009 the said 'later and Light Department to pay
the premiums on said insurance.
