The City Council met in regular called session on the above date,
Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen being present:
F. Be Buchholzq J. R. Chastains C. C. Hamiltons We P. Hoffman, :rep
and S. Be Wilcox# and City Manager Be H. Cruce.
The following resolution was presented to the Council and read:
"A resolution of the City Council of the City of Georgetownt
authorizing certain extensions of the sewer system of said city, and
authorizing 'Be H. Cruce, city managerg' to enter into eontraetq for
said extensions, on behalf of the City."
"RThereas, the City Council has heretofore had under consider-
ation, the making of certain extensions of the sewer lines of said
city, and has heretofore authorized and instructed B. H. Cruce, City
manager tomake a survey of the work to be donee and to procure bids
from contractors therefor, and that the said city manager did in
pursuance to said instructions make the said surveyp and did procure
bids therefor, and did on this day report to the City Cluncil, as to
the survey made, and bids submittedv and form the nature of contract
to be executedq with the bidder making the best bid:
"Therefore, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown%
"That the extensions, under consideration are hereby author-
ized, and the bid made by D. L. Pickett, for the making of said
extensions, being the lowest and best bid submitted „ is hereby ac-
cepted, and the said Be H. Crucep on behalf of the City, is author-
ized and directed, to execute with the said D. L. Pickett the contract,
above mentioned."
n motion of Ald. Hamilton, Sec by Ald. Chastain The Resolution was
"Passed and approved this the 19th day of December! A. D. 1944."
