The Citi` Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
M. F. Smith rresidina, the follnwinL7 slAarman Pnd officers were

W. P. Hoffman, Jr, and S. E. Wilcox. Officers: Wayne Magill, mar- .
shal; W. H. Nunn, attorney fnr the city; C. S. Sanders assessor and c
collector; M. L. Cates, secretary and the manager of city utilities
and streets. Be H. Cruce.
On motion of Alderman Hoffman the minutes of the last meeting
were approved,
On motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton all arproved accounts were ordered
paid.
The Mayor appointed Alderman J. R. Chastain and Alderman S. E. Wilcox -
to canvas the return4 of the City election held the fourth day of April
19449 and thev reported the results as follows:
For Mayor
M. F. Smith 46
M. L. Catee, 4
For Alderman: -
W. P. Hoffman,
F. EL Buchholz,
votes
votes
Jr, 50 votes
50 votes.
The aforesaid, M. F. Smith, And W. P. Hoffman, Jr.,
and F. Be Buchholz, Alderman., each Having received a majority of
all votes cast, were declared re-elected to their respective offices
for the ensuing term, and were duly xxzzx administered the oaths of of -'i
office.
Mayor V. F. Smith, appointed the following to serve on the standing
committees for the next term -of office, and also appointed, as Mayor
Pro Tem Alderman S. E. Wilenx, and Dr. Walter S. Martin as city wealth
Officer.
