Smith presiding, the following aldermen a and officers being present: Aldermen: F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chas- tain, We P. Hoffrpa.n Jr., C. C. Hamilton, and S. Be Wilcox. Offic- ers, Albert may, marshal; C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector, and M. L. Cates, Secretary. 'Be H. Cruce, manager of utilities, streets and parks. Motion by Alderman Buchholz that the minutes of previous seesion be approved was padsed* Notion by Alderman Chastain that all approved accounts be paid was passed. Motion by Alderman Hoffman that reports pf officers be received and filed. Motion was made by Alderman F. E. Buchholz and seconded by Alderman 0. R. Chastain, that Be H.-Cruce, manager of Utilites, write an accounting manual, -purchase and set up the accounting records, and develop the prpcedures for brimging all the- account- ind data of the City into the "dater and Light Office. The Secretary, the City Treasurer, and the Tax Assessor and Collector is requested to give their cooperation so that all the accounting and statistical data of the City may be brought together at one place. The motion Carried by Unanimous vote. A group of citizens representing the Lions Club and various civic organizations including officers from such groups as were represented, appeared at the council meeting for the "purpose of promoting the plac- ing of Varkers on the various street intersections. A motion was made by Alderman Buchholz,t'hnd seconded by Alderman Hoffman that a committee be appointed to cooperate with the civic committeemen in an effort to prosecute the project to completion. The Committee Aldermen Buchholz and Chastain, to also include manager of Utilities, Streets and Parks, Be H. Cruce.
