The City Uouncil met inm regular session on the above date, Mayor
M. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers were
present; Aldermen, F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, ;P, P. Hoffman, Jr.41
C. C. Hamilton, Sam E. Ilcox . Officers: Albert May, marshal, 11. L.
Cates secretary, and manager of Utilities B. H. Cruce.
On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain minutes of the previous meet-
ing were approved.
On motion of Alderman Chastain all 7approved bills and accounts were
ordered paid.
The Bond of $5000.00 for Vanager of TTtilities B. TT. Cruce, with
the American Surety Company of New York as sureties, was accepted and file
filed, on Motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton.
On Votion of Alderman 7. E. Buchholz, seconded by Alderman S. E.
Wilcox, Manager I. H. Cruce, of the 'Tater and night plant , and lj!ayor
M. F. Smith, were authorized to use the funds from the Utilities to
purchase VAtAW.00 in Defense Bonds.
There appearing no further business the council adjourned.
