E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, C. C. I Hamilton, W. P. Hoffman, Jr., and S. E. Wilcox. Officers --W. H. Nunn, city attorney, C. S. Sanders, city assessor and treasurer; Albert May Marshal; M. L. Cates, secretary and Manager of Utilities R. E. Ward. On motion of Alderman Chastain, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved, asv corrected. On motion of F. E. Buchholz the report of City Marshal Albert May was received and filed. On motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton, seconded by Alderman F. E. Buchholz, the Council approved the tranfer of $1500 from the Water and Light Department to the General Fund of the city, on July 22, 1942. On motion of Alderman C. C.1 Hamilton, seconded by Alderman J. R. Chastain, a transfer from the Water and Light Depart- ment to the City General Fund, not to exceed A19000.009 for the purpose of covering an overdraft an bhidbf General fund was authorized. A motion was made by Alderman C. C. Hamilton, seconded by Alderman W. P. Hoffm an, Jr., authorizing Mayor M. F. Smith to write to Congressman Lyndon Johnson, requesting him to tender the Georgetown Airpaort lang to the U. S. -Government, for any military defense project it may deem available.
