An Ordinance of the City of Georgetown, Texas, authorizing
and empowering the Mayor of the said City, to, with .the consent
and approval of the City Council of said City, annually employ
a competent lawyer, as the legal representative and adviser,
of the said City, and of the Public Utilities of the said City.
That such lawyer so employed shall be designated as Attorney for
the City of Georgetown, and shall perform all of the services and
receive the same compensation, as that heretofore by ordinance
provided for and incident to the office of "City Attorney."' And
declaring an emergency.

Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of George-
That from and after the passage of this ordinance, the
Mayor of the City of Georgetown, shall, with the advise and.
consent of the City Council of said City, employ some competent
lawyer, residing in the said City, as legal representative and
adviser of the said Public Utilities of the said City, and as
legal representative of the saiO City, and such lawyer so employed'
shall be designated as "Attorney of the City of Georgetown", shall
be the legal representative of the said City and legal adviser to
and for the said City and the Utilities, and shall perform all of
the duties and services and receive the same compensation as that
heretofore provided.by ordinance and incident to the office of
"City Attorney". That such employment shall be made annually;
the first being made at this time, and each appointment thereafter
to be made at the time of the appointment of the Manager of
the Public Utilities of the said City.
The fact that it is necessary that some person be at
ones employed as "Attorney for the City of Georgetown", creates
a public necessity that the rules requiring the reading of
ordinances at there separate meetings before passage be sus-
pended and that this ordinance be at once passed.and that it take
effect from and after its passage.
