The City Council ITet in regular session on the above date,
Yayor Y. F. Sfdith presiding, the following aldermen and officers
being present: Aldermen T. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, J. C. Godbey,
C. C. Kemilton, S. E. Tilcox. Officers: 'ff. H. Nunn, city Attorney;
C. S. Senders, Tax Assessor and Collector; Albert Vay 11a.rshal;
Y. L. Cates Secretary and Y nager of utilities R. E. `lard.
On motion of Alderman Chastain minutes of the previous meetings
were approved.
On motion of Alderman uamilton all approved accounts were ordered
paid.
On motion of Alderman Chastain the reports of City Officers
C. S. Sanders and Albert Tfay were received and filed.
On motion of Alderman C. C. Iiamilton, seconded by Alderman S. E.
7ilcox, Tax Collector and Assessor C. S. Sanders was charged with

Chairman Lee -M. Taylor, of the auditing Committee made his -final
report. On motion of Alderman S. E. '7ilcox, seconded by Alderman
J. R. Chastain the report was received and filed.
i,Ordinance committeeman J. C. Godbey presented an Ordinance regulating
''Jrhibiting the keeping of cows in the city limits, and moved that it
Wts,4 be read. The motion was seconded by Alderman J. R. Chastain, and was
.unanimously carried.
The Ordinance was read in full.,,A-'Mo,tion wasemdde by Alderman J. 'R.
Chastain that the said Ordinance be passed to its second reading.
The motion was seconded by Alderman C. C. Hpmilton. Afterudisuusitnn
the Mayor presented the question and the Lotion was carried, the
following being t�ue vote cast. Ayes--Buehnolz', Cnas:,ain, Godbey,
Ham tt6oV Wilco. Noes --none. See Ord. on page log -A.
on motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton seconded by Alderman S. E.
Wilcox the Couneil voted to have a public hearing on the ordinance,
in the Distvict Courtroom Tuesday- nigh*+ - April 21, for the purpose
of aseert:ainin&hthdedssires of,,thesi�,.iateresded, before preceeding
with the final vote on same.
On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, and seconded�����b��' Alderman
F. E. Buchholz, the Council approved the advanc:�4t"'salary of
Fireman* tax Sansom, hospital ' and;,--istrgieal treatment for Mrs.
Sansom, in the amount of $250.009 thus approving the issuance
of Vouchers by the Secretary for said amount. k,,,.
The Payor appointed Aldermen Chastain and Wilcox to canvas the
the returns of the City Election held Tuesday, April 7th, 1942.
The Committee reported the results as follows: duly signing said
report:

Yayor ??. F. Smith receiving the majority of votes for ITPyor,
was duly reelecled.

For Alderman: of which two were to be elected, F. T% Buchholz
and l'vi-P: ?Roffman, Jr., having received the largest number of
votes, respectively, were declared by the mayor as elected for
the ensuing term of two years.
