Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers were present: Aldermen F. E. Buchholz, J. R'. r'hastain, J. C. Godvey, C. C. Ham- ilton sxd S. R. Wilcox. Officers: T. H. Nunn, city attorney; C. S. Sanders, assessor,and collector; Albert May, marshal; M. Z. Cates Secretary and R. E. "Vard, Manager of utilities. On motion of Ald erman Chastain the minutes of the previous meetings were approve. On motion Pf Alderman Wilcox all approved accounts were ordered paid. *4#"__0f motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, seconded by Alderman F. E. Buch- olz, the council unanimously, accepted the propositon of Mr. Bmzy Will - ams to purchase of him 7.30 acres of .land adjoining the recently acquired ausenfluck land for use as an airport, X=xXi paying Mr. Williams 470.00 per acre, giving the Mayor authority to close the deal. t 11 Also On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman F.`TJ . Buchholz, the council unanimously accepted ten acres of land adjoining the proposed k irport size owned by W. H. Nunn, paying him $700.00 therefor, and author- ied the mayor to complete the tranaction. Alderman G. C. Godbey made a motion that Manager Ward Be authorized to enter into contract with Fairbanks -Morse company for the complete overhauling of one of the diesel engines at the power` plant. Alderman S. E. Wilcox seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. The Salary Ordinance designating the salary to be paid the Mayor and Ald- ermen to -be elected at the next general city election to be held in April 1942 as: Mayor's salary, $40.00 per month and each alderman to be paid $4.00 for each meeting of the city council attended by such alderman. was presented by Ordinance Committee an J. That for and in consideration of development 8fttyhe Airport by the Government as contemplated by the Project, the ( up blic Georgetova agency) does hereby covenant and agree with the Government as follows: a) The Government shall have the right to develop the Airport as it sees fit, including the right to determine the exact nature of the improvements to be made under the Project, the manner in which the Project is to be conducted, the amount of Federal funds to be expended and all City of Georgetam other matters relating to the Project. uThel( p blic agency) will cooperate with the Government to ensure prosecution of the Project without inter— ference or hindrance, and agrees to permit the agents and employees of the Government, and all persons authorized by the Administrator, to enter upon, use, and occupy the Airport as the Administrator may deem necessary or desirable in connection with the conduct of the Project. City of Georgetown e, ( b) Thpu lic agents,') agrees to indemnify and save harmless the Government against and from any and all claims and damages which mar arise from or in connection with the carrying out of the Project, excepting claims for materials furnished or work performed pursuant to authority given by officers, employees, or agents of the Government. c) It is understood and agreed that all improvements made under the City of Georgetova Project shall be the sole and absolute property of the(l(public agency), except where specifically agreed otherwise, in writing, prior to the undertaking of the improvement or installation in question.
