September 29, 1941
The City Council met in adjourned regular session -on the above
date, Mayor M. F. Smith presiding. The folldwing aldermen and of-
ficers were present: Aldermen, F. E'..Buchholz, J. R. Chastain,
J. C. Godbey, C. C. Hamilton, and S. Be Wilcox; and Officers W* H.._.
Nunn, City Attorney, and.M. L. Cates, Secretary.
�( Alderman J. C. Godbey presented an Ordinance authoriziv

issuance of CITY OF GEQP O .TA.IRPORT BONDS, in the principal sum
of $259000.O�and�moved that the said ordinance be read in full,
which motion was then and there seconded by Alderman S. E. Wilcox
and put by.the Mayor and upon roll call carried by the following
vote: "AYES", Buchholz, Chastaint Godbey, Hamilton, Wilcox noes--
none. The Mayor announced that the said motion had carried nd the
said Ordinance was then read in full.
Xl.derman J. Co Godbey then moved that the rules requiring
Ordinance's be read at three separate meetings, be suspended. And
that the said Ordinance be put on a second reading and be'read by
Caption which motion was seconded by Alderman. J. Re Chastain, and put
by the Mayor and upon roll call passed by the-follo*ing vote:
"AYES119 Buchholz, Chastain, God bey, Hamilton! Wilcox; noes --none.
The Mayor then declared that the said motion had carried and 4ka4
the said Ordinance walthen read by Caption.

the said Ordinance -be placed upon its third reading and be read.by
Caption which motion was then seconded by Alderman F. Be Buchholz
and put by_the Mayor and upon roll call carried with the following
vote: "A73S"9 Buchholz, Chastain, Godbeyp Hamilton, Wilcox; noe"s--none,
The 'Mayor announced that,the said motion had carried and the said
Ordinance Vh4hen read by Caption.
Alderman J. C. Godbey then moved that the said Ordinance be
finally passed, which motion was then ,seconded by Alderman J. R.
Chastain and put by -the Mayor and upon roll call carried by the
following vote: "AYBS" Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton,
Wilcox; noes --none,
Mayor M. F. Smith then announced that the said Ordinance
had finally passed and orderdd that it be properly signed and
attested and that it be recorded in the hfinutes of the City.Council,
which is accordingly done and that the said Ordinance so pasted
and recorded is as follows: (Minutes of City Council Book 29 page 99-a.
Alderman J. C. Godbey presented and read the following
Ordinance; in full, and moved that it be passed:
"An Ordinance of the City Council of the City' of Ge-org'etown,
Texas, repealing -that certain Ordinance passed on the-l6th,day
of September, 19419 authorizing the Issuance of x$259 000.80 in
the "CITY OF GEORGETOWN AIRPORT BONDS" and declaring an emergency.
Whereas, since the passage of the above mentioned Ordinance
of date September 16th, 1941, it has been ascertained that the
said Bonds can be issued and sold at, a lower rate of interest
than that stated in the -said Ordinance, therefore;
Be it ordained by the City Countil of the City of Georgeta on!
Texas, that the Airport Bond Ordinance authorizing $25-F000.009
"CITY OF GEORGET01MI AIRPORT BOTMS" of date September 16th, 19415,
be and the same is hereby rept
The fact that it is necessary to at once pass another Or-
dinance on the same subject creates an emergency that the rules
be suspended and this Ordinance be at once passed."

Mayor M. F. Smith then announced that the said Ordinance had
finally passed and ordered that it be properly signed and attested
and that it be recorded in the Minutes of the City Council, which
is accordingly done and that the said Ordinance so passed and re-
corded is as follows: -,{Minutes of City Council Book_ 2. Page 99-a.
There appearing no further business, Alderman F. E. Buchholz
moved that the Council meet in adjourned regular session Tuesday
evening,September 23, 1941. The motion was seconded by Alderman
J. R. Chastain and was carried unanimously.

ton, and S. E. Wilcox; and Officers W. H. Nunn, City Attorney, and
Mr.L. Cates, Secretary.
- fids were opened for the $2590001,00 Airport Bonds. The bid of
Rauscher, Pierce and Company, San Antonio, being the best wasraeftJ10,
eepted by the Council. The bid was for bonds maturing in 1943 to
19529 as 24s, semi-annual, and bonds maturing in 1953 to 19669 as
21s, semi -annuals paying a premium. of $35,50. The next highest
bidder was A. W. Snyder and Company, Houston whose bid was 22s-
100.104.
Alderman J. R: Chastain moved'that the Council adjourn and
meet again at the usual time and place in the City Hall the'29th
day of September, A. D., 1941. The motion was seeon ed by Alderman
C. C. Hamilton and was carried unanimo y/Y9
