July 14, 1941
The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
M. F. Smith presiding. -the following aldermen and officers being
present; Aldermen --F. E. '3uchholz,J. R. Chastain, J, C. Godbey,
C.C. HemiltonX and S. E. Wilcox, Officers: 11. L. Cates, Secretary;
Albert May, Marshal and R. E. :'hard, manager of utilities.
On motion of Alderman Hamilton the minutes of the previous meet-
ings were approved.
On motion of Alderman Chastain all approved accounts were ordered
paid.
On motion of Alderman Chasatin, Nightwatchman Ramsel was granted
his usual vacation,
On motion of Alderman Hamilton the Mayor was requested to extend
an invitation to the District American Legion convention to hold
their next convention in Georgetown.
Motion was madr-by Alderman C. C. Hamilton and seconded by Alder-
man J. R. Chastain Authorizing Manager of "later and Light Plant-
R.
lant.R. E. Ward to place from the funds of the water and light department
into the General Fund sufficient money to take care of the needs
of such general fund ftx as is necessary for the remainder of
the year.
Motion by Alderman J. C..Godbey that Fire' Committeeman .T. R,
Chastain be authorized,to purchase 500 feet of fire hose
was unanimously passed.
On motion of Alderman S. E. Wilcox, the report of City Marshal
May was received and filed.
There appearing no further business the Council dfourned,
