June 9, 1941
The City Council met in regular session on the above date,
Mayor Pro Tem J. C. Godbey presiding, the following aldermen
and officers being present: Aldermen: F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chas-
tain, C. C. Hamilton and S. E. Wilcox. Officers. W. H. Nunn,
city attorney; Albert May City Marshal and 14. L. Cates
secretary, And R. E. Ward Manager of city utilities.
On motion of Alderman F. E. Buchholz the minutes of the previous
meeting were approved.
On motion of Alderman Buchholz, all approved accounts were ordered
paid.
A committee fr=m,thd Junior Chamber of Commerce, composed of
Grimes, Russell and Melburn appeared before the 19ouncil to
and discussed traffic violation, tendering the council and
assistance tltsr might suggest that may lead to better regu-
lations.
The Council heard and discussed the proposition for the covering
of the old city reservoir, The matter was left to the water
and light committee and Alderman J. R. Chastain and Manager
R. E. Ward.
On motion of Alderman Hamilton the Council voted to give the
usual vacation to Watchman Sherman .
