The City Council met in regular session on the above date,
Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, tIje following aldermen and officers
being present: Aldermen: F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, J. C. God -
bey, C. C. Hamilton and S. E. Tilcox. Officers: 7. H. Nunn, city
attorney: Albert May, marshal; C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector,
M. L. Cates secretary, and Manager of Utilities R. L. 'hard.
On motion of Alderman Chastain the minutes of the previous meeting
were approved.
On motion of Alderman Godbey all approved accounts were ordered paid.
On motion of Alderman Chastain, seconded by Alderman Hamilton,
the Council approved the erection of Lions Club Signs on North and
South.Austin4Avenue.
A Reso�luti6n as recorded on page 89a and 89b of these minutes,
was offered and read by Committeeman J. C. Godbey, who moved that
the same be adopted. The motion was seconded by Alderman J. R. Chas-
tain and was adopted by the unanimous vote of the Council, the
folloring being the vote: Ayes: Buchholz, Chastain, Godbey, Hamilton and
Wilcox. Noes, none.
Officers reports were read and on motion of Alderman Godbey, the
same were received and filed.
On motion of Alderman S. E. Wilcox, seconded by Alderman F. E.
Buchholz, Manager R. E. Ward was authorised to purchase the
presenr required amount of sewer pipe.
As recommended by Manager of Utilities R. E. f$$d, the Council voted the
following reduction of electric current used for domestic purposes
as follows; on motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey and seconded by Alder-
man C. C. Hamilton:
First Fifteen (15) kw. $1.00 netand the minimum
charge. Next 35 (35) kw.5cts gross or 4.5 cts per kw
net.
Rate reduction effe's the first 50 kw only, balance of
bill to be computed by the old rates.
The proposition of leasing the city tract of land was re-
ferred to Aldermen Godbey and Hamilton.
The Mayor reappointed standing committlees, and the Mayor
Frotem, also Dr. Walter S. Martin was"reappounted City Health
Officer for the ensuing term, which was unanimously approved
by the council.
The following were named and approved as ai( e4 tax equalization
board C. S. Griffith, J. R. Robertson, and J. M. Vaught.
There appearing no further business the Cougc� adjour ed.
