The City Council met in regular session on the above date
with m Mayor Y, F. Smith presiding , the following aldermen and off
ficers being present: Aldermen, F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain,
and. S. E. Wilcox, Officers, Albert Ma.y, marshal; C. S. Sanders
assessor and collector; W. H. TTunn, city attorney; V. L. Cates,
secretary and Manager R. E. +'Pas d, of the utilities.
Mihutes of tree previous meetings were approved as read by
motion of S. E. Wilcox.
All accounts were approved on motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain,
Mr. Harvey 0. Payne, of the organization of the National Youth Ad-
ministration, being present was called upon by the Mayor to outline
steps to be taken in the furtherance of Jdm an NYA project which was
recently presented to the NYA to provide the construction of a build-
ing to house an NYA woodwork and metal shop, such project to be co-
sponsored by the City of Georgetown.
After discussion of the matter as presented by 11r. Payne, IL motion
was made by Alderman J. R. Chastain that in the event the National
Mouth Administration, at a future date, found it no longer has use
for the building, that the United States Government may retain title
to the building and utilize same as it may desire, and also,that in
the event the National Youth Administration, at a future date no longer
has use for the building that the United States Government may reserve
the right to demolish the building and use the materials therefrom
as it sees fit. The motion was seconded by Alderman S. E. Wilcox, and
was passed unanimously.
Manager of Utilities R. E. 'lard read a letter to the Council from
Mr. L. L. Hide/, stating that he desired that the city furnish water
on hislace west of the city, outside the city limits, the said
Mr. HWe]( proposing to pay for the piping used from the proper
connecting point in the city to his property. Alderman J. R.TChas=
ta;n• made the motion that the city furnish the said water to Mr.
HiNelf for $3.00 minimum for the first 6000 gallons of water, and 25c
per 1000 gallons of water used thereafter. The motion was seconded
by Alderman S. E. Tilcnx, and was passed by the unanimous vote of the
Council.
Manager Ward of the city utilities proposed the following rate

A notion was made -by Alderman S. E. `,Vilcox that the Council adopt'
the foregoing reduction in electric rates. The motion was aeeonded
by A3.derman F. E. 73urhholz, and it was carried by the unanimous
vote oi' the Council.
Alderman J. R. Chastain made a motion that Yr. R. E. Ward be -
again re-employed as managfer p� the City Utilities for another
year, at the same salary now being paid him for such services.
Alderman F. E. Buchholz seconded the motion, and the motion
passed the council by a unanimous vote.
On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain; Manager of Ut"ilities- R. �-
Ward was authorized to purchase a trunk for the street department.
