The City Council met in regular session on the above date, Mayor
M. F. Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers were pres-
ent: Aldermen, F. B. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, J. C. Godbey, C. C. Ham
ilton and S. E. Wilcox. Officers: W. H. Nunn, city attorney: C."'S.
Sanders, Assessor and Collector; Albert May, marshal; R. B. Ward Mane
ager Utilities and M. L. Gates, secretary.
On motion of Alderman F. Be Buchholz minutes of the previous meetings
were approved. On motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton all approved ac-
cents were ordered paid.
The proposition of the erection of a Magnolia Oil Company sign in
Suthern extremities of Austin Ave. was referred to a committee, com-
posed of Aldermen Hamilton and Chastain and Manager of Utilities
R. Be Ward, on motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey.
A motion was made miximandad by Alderman J. C. Godbey and seconded
by Alderman J. R. Chastain, Authorizing Manager ofm city Utilities
to transfer from the'.proper fund of the Water and Light Detartment
to the General Fund of the City a sufficient amount of money to
cover the existing overdraft on the General Fund. The mtion Carried
unanimously.
Anmation was made by Alderman Godbey, seconded by Alderman Wilcox,
that the Council accept the proposition offered for the continuance
of the sewing room a,d a committee be appointed by the'ldayor-to com-
plete the arrangements necessary. The motion was carriedv 41.1 mem-
bers of the Council except Alderman C. C. Hamilton voting aye.
Mayor Smith appointed the following committeemen: F. H. Buchholz,
J. R. Chastain, And S. Be Wilcox.
There appearing no further business the council adjourned,
