June 12, 1940.
The City Council met in regular session on the above date, with
Mayor M. F. Smith presiding, -the following officers and aldermen
being present: Aldermen; F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, J. C. Godbey
C. C. Hamilton and S. E. 7ilcox. Officers: W. H. Nunn, city attorney;
C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector; Albert May Marshal, K. L. Cates,
secretary and R. E. Ward, manager utilities.
On motion of S. E. Wilcox the minutes of the previous meeting were
approved as read.
On Motion of Alderman C. C. Hamilton all approved accounts were ordered
paid.
A committee of which Alderman J. C. Godbey was chairman was appointed
to confer with the county commissioners regarding the the sustainanee
of the W. P. A. Sewing Room.
§aerman J. C. Godbey offered the following resolution: " Resolved
at Mayor 11. F. Smith be and is herebv em owered and authorized to
renew a note for Four Thousand and No/100 04,000.00) Dollars held
against the city of Georgetown, Texas, by The Farmers State Bank of
Georgetown, Texas, agreeable to such conditions as is customary, by
all concerned,""andl-31ovedntb.at7the-z me be passed. X.gterman C. Co
Hamilton seconded the motion and the said above resolution was
passed unanimously.
Alderman J. C. Godbey presented the following resolutiont Resolved,
that Manager of Utilities, R. E. Ward, of Georgetown, Texas, be and
is hereby authorized and Directed to transfer from the proper fund
of Georgetown Water and Light Plant, to the City General Fund, suf-
ficient amount of money to cover an existing deficit of such General
Fund and also the outstanding vouchers of the current month." Alder-
man Godbey moved that the same be passed, axdtx Alderman V. E. Buchholz
seconded the motion and the matdon was unanimously passed.
There occuring no further business, the council adjourned.
