The City Council met in called session
rd. F. Smith presiding and the following
present: Aldermen F. E. Buchholz, S. E.
Officers: 147. L. Cates, secretary.
The following resolution was read:

on the above date, Mayor,
aldermen and officers were

"That, whereas, on July 209 19390 at a called session of the
City Council Mayor T.T. '1'._ Smith was authorized to notify Dr. John :7.
Bergin that the City of Georgetown would give 04,000 towards the
erection of a $409000 Gymnasium, the money to be turned over as
soon as construction of the gymnasium was started.
"Now, therefore, whereas said work on the said gymnasium
has been started and is now ell under way we find it desirable to make
said payment out of the utility funds now deposited in the-uniount
run in the name of the Georgetown Water & Light Plant in the First
National Bank and the Farmers State Bank, Georgetown, Texas, and whereas
R. -.:'J. Ward is the manager.of said plant; now, therefore", the said R. E.
Ward is directed to issue the check of the Georgetown Water & Light
Plant for the sum of Four Thousand ($4,000.00) Dollars "in trust for
the said gymnasium as heretofore pledged by us oh said above date and
of record in the Minute Book of this city on Page 60.

Alderman Gari E. Wilcox moved that the $addresoultion be adopted, and
the motion was seconded by '. E. Buchholz, Mayor Smith put the question
before the Council and the same was unanimously adopted.
