Smith presiding, the following aldermen and officers being present; Aldermen: F. E. Buchholz, J. R. Chastain, J. C. Godbey, C. C. Hamiltod, and S. E. Wilcox, Officers: "r. H. Nunn, city attorney: C. S. Sanders, assessor and collector;. Albert May, marshal; M. L. Cates, secretary and Manager R. E. Ward. Minutes of the previous regular and adjourned sessions were approved on motion of F. E. Buchholz. On motion of Alderman J. R. Chastain, seconded by Alderman C. C. Hamil- ton, all approved accounts were ordered paid. On motion of Alderman J. C. Godbey, seconded by Alderman S. E. Wileox, the Cpuncil confirmed the appointment of the followingas an auditing committee for the city books of 1939.: Lee. 17. Taylor, H. Chreitzberh and Laurie Richardson, Alderman J. C. Godbey moved that the following Resolution be read in full and adopted; and Alderman S. I.Wilcox seconded the motion: "RESOLUTION of the City of Georgetown, Texas, adjusting the funds to the accounts of the City of Georgetownr 7aterVorks Improve- ment Bonds and the City of Georgetown Paving Bonds." "?17hereas, in making the tax levy for the year 1939, an error was made, whereby 10 cents on each $100.00 valuation, in excess of the amount necessary, was levied to pay interest ind sinking fund'on the series of bonds of the city known as WATERWORKS 11APROVMMNT BONDSp thus creating a surplusin the said account; and Wnbreas an insufficient levy of 10 Cents on each $100.00 valuation was made to pay interest and sinking fund on the series of bonds of the City, known as PAVIN§ bonds # thus creating a deficiency in the said account, and that by reason of the said mistakes, there is now in the first mentioned account an amount more than sufficient to pay interest and care for the sinking fund for the year 1940, and that there is not enough in the second mentioned account to pay the principal and interest for the year 1940* Therefore:. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of George- town, Texas: That, the Manager of the City Utilities, R. E. Ward, for and during the year 19409 and for that year alone, is hereby directed to pay and deliver to the City Treasurer the funds set apart for the payment of., -- principal and interest on the series of bonds known aebWAZBRWORKS IMPROV 4. MENT BONDS, and that the said City Treasurer shall deposit the said funds for said year to the credit 66 the account of the series of Bonds known as PAVING BONDS, thus adjusting the accounts of the said TWO series of bonds of the said City.
