A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE GEORGETOWN
MUNICIPAL AIRPORT TO SELL FUEL AT COST TO SUPPORT
HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF EFFORTS.
WHEREAS, in August 2017, Hurricane Harvey decimated numerous communities on and near
the Texas Coast creating an extreme emergency situation; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds it in the best interest of our community and the state
to fulfil a vital public purpose of facilitating the relief effort by selling fuel at cost to individuals
and organizations providing aid to those affected by this natural disaster; and,
WHEREAS, relief efforts require transportation and logistical support including jet fuel to
deliver aid to the affected communities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN TEXAS:
SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION TWO. The City of Georgetown will provide jet fuel at cost to those individuals and
organizations assisting in the disaster recovery and relief efforts due to Hurricane Harvey.
SECTION THREE. This Resolution shall become effective on the a- day ofSR"kLe-r
2017.
