AN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT STANDARD GAS CODE - 1982
EDITION, RELATING TO INSPECTION ACTIVITIES OF T H E
CITY OF GEORGETOWN AND ENFORCEMENT OF BUILDING
PROVISIONS AS PROVIDED IN SAID CODE.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, to adopt, in all respects, the Standard Gas Code -
1982 edition; and
WHEREAS, the adoption of this code is done to facilitate
proper inspection activities by the City of Georgetown, relating
to construction and to maintenance of building within the
corporate limits of said town and relating to public safety,
health and general welfare; now, therefore
I.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN
that the Standard Gas Code - 1982 edition, is hereby adopted by
reference as though it were copied herein fully.
II.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN that any matter in said code which is contrary to
existing ordinances of the City shall prevail and to that extent
any existing ordinances to the contrary are hereby repealed in
that respect only.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN that within said code when reference is made to the
duties of certain officials named therein that designated
official in the City of Georgetown, who has duties corresponding
to those of the named official in said code, shall be deemed to
be the responsible official insofar as enforcing the provisions
of said code are concerned.

IV.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN that this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage, the public welfare requiring it,
thereby making this an emergency.
V.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that a copy of said code is attached
to this ordinance and incorporated by reference as if set out
word for word.

READ, PASSED and APPROVED by the City Council on first and
Q final reading as an emergency at a meeting held on the �_ day

of February ...... 1983, the nature of the emergency being the
pressing need for the application of the rules and standards set
out in such code immediately for the protection and for the
welfare of the citizens of Georgetown.
