HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 82-11 - Vacating Forest Street314 82-11 ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE VACATING THE WESTERN ONE FOOT (1') OF FOREST STREET BETWEEN 6TH STREET AND 7TH STREET, GEORGETOWN, WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS WHEREAS, a petition has been received from H. G. Catron, the owner of the south one hundred forty feet (140') of Block 35, the Original Town of George- town, Texas, containing all of Lots 3 and 4 and the south twenty feet (20') of Lot 2 in said Block 35; WHEREAS, the petition states that the Petitioner desires that the western one foot (1') of Forest Street between 6th and 7th Streets in Georgetown, Texas, the same being a strip of land one foot (1') wide and one hundred forty feet (140') long, is not being used as a traveled public right-of-way and that the Petitioner owns all adjoining property on the western side of Forest Street be- tween 6th Street and 7th Street, and that it would be beneficial for the Peti- tioner to have such one foot (1') strip of Forest Street adjoining his property vacated and abandoned. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of George- town, Texas, that the western one foot (1') of Forest Street between 6th Street and 7th Street, Georgetown, Texas, the same being a strip of land one foot (11) wide and one hundred forty feet (140') long, is hereby vacated, closed and abandoned except that the City of Georgetown reserves for itself or for any public utility company the right to maintain, repair and replace any water, sewer or other utility lines which may be presently located in, on or over the one foot (1') strip of Forest Street hereby abandoned.
