AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE
USE OF GLASS BEVERAGE BOTTLES
WITH A CAPACITY OF LESS
THAN ONE (1) QUART IN CITY
PARKS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas:
Section 5. WHEREAS, an emergency is apparent for the
Immediate preservation of order, good government
and public safety that requires this ordinance
to become effective at once; therefore, upon the
passage of this ordinance by a vote of at least
six members of the Council, it shall be effective
from and after the date of its passage as made
and provided by the Charter of the City of George-
town.
PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading this 9th day
of June, 1981, as an emergency.

Section 1. No person shall use or possess any
glass beverage bottle with a capacity of less than
one (1) quart.

Section 2. This section shall not apply to food -

stuffs in glass containers or wine and liquor
bottles used in the Community Center.

Section 3. "City Park" means any property in the
City of Georgetown designated as a park, playground,

recreational facility, swimming pool, hike and bike
path, and shall include buildings parking lots
and driveways in such areas.
Section 4. Any person who shall violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to
exceed $200.00.
Section 5. WHEREAS, an emergency is apparent for the
