HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 10.10.1978 - Urban RenewalA RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SELL LAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN IN THE SOUTH SAN GABRIEL URBAN RENEWAL ADDITION AND SPECIFYING THE CONDITIONS -OF THE SALE. WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas was deeded certain parcels of land located in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition as a result of the closeout of the Georgetown Urban Renewal Project, and; WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is authorized by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to sel I all or part of the land received, and; WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas intends to sell part of the land subject to serveral conditions, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the City Manager is authorized to sell any part of those parcels of land located in the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition which were deeded to the City of Georgetown as a result of the closeout of the Georgetown Urban Renewal Project, subject to the following conditions and standards: ,v (1) Land shall be sold by the City to the highest qualified bidder after receiving ^„ separate sealed bids in accordance with State and local law, provided however, that any Cr; bidder who is an Urban Renewal Project Area resident or ex -resident or who is related to an Urban Renewal resident or ex-residentas mother, father, daughter, son, grandmother, grand- father, granddaughter, grandson, brother or sister, shall have the option of meeting the highest bid and purchasing the parcel bid upon, unless the highest bidder is likewise an Urban Renewal resident or ex -resident or so related to an Urban renewal resident or ex -resident, in which event, the option to meet the highest bid and purchase the property may be exercised by the highest bidder who is such a resident, ex -resident, or so related, and should he fail to exercise such option, same may be exercised by the next highest bidder amoung those who are residents, ex -residents, or so related to same, and so on, until a qualified option is exercised, or no bidder is eligible to exercise the option. (2) The minimum bid for any parcel to be sold shall be one and one-half times the estimated value of the property as provided in the Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Georgetown, Texas and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown. The City of Georgetown may reject any bid which is less than the minimum bid price so established. AIF lots will be sold for cash only. (3) The purchaser of any parcel of land shall provide all documents, deeds, surveys, policies, and instruments necessary for the legal sale and transfer of the property, and the City of Georgetown shall assume no responsibility or obligation to provide the some. (4) All property conveyed shall be subject to the covenants and conditions as provided in the Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Georgetown, Texas, and the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown. (5) The four parcels identified as A -la, A -2a, A -3-a, and H -7-a in the Memorandum of Agreement shall only be conveyed to specific adjoining property owners as identified by the City of Georgetown.
