HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 07.20.1978 - Condemnation38 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ATTORNEY TO PROCEED WITH CON- DEMNATION PROCEEDINGS ON LAND LOCATED IN THE WILLIAMS ADDITION SURVEY, COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON FOR PURPOSES OF CON- STRUCTING A STREET AND INSTALLING WATER AND SEWER LINES. WHEREAS, there is a public interest and need to construct a street and install water and sewer lines in the County of Williamson, Texas, located on the property described as follows: BEING 0.094 acres of land out of the Wm. Addison Survey, Abstract No. 21 in Williamson County, Texas; said land also being a part of the San Jose (undedicated) addition; said land also being a part of that certain tract conveyed to Jesus M. Valdez, of record in Volume 359, Page 152 of the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground by Don H. Bizzell, Registered Professional Engineer, and described more fully as follows: BEGINNING at the S. W. corner of the said Valdez tract, at the intersection of San Jose and 22nd Street, for the S. W. corner hereof; THENCE N 70000' E, 409.71 feet along the North margin of 22nd street to a point in the West margin of the abandoned M. K. T. Railroad, for the S. E. corner hereof, THENCE N 27017'W, 10.08 feet along the said M. K. T. Railroad to a point for the N. W. corner hereof; THENCE S 70000' W, 408.33 feet to a point in the East margin of San Jose Street for the N. W. corner hereof, THENCE S 19025'E, 10.00 feet along Son Jose Street to the place of BEGINNING and containing 0.094 acre of land. WHEREAS, the City has attempted to negotiate a sale of said tract with the owners, but has been unable to get said owners to negotitate: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, that it is necessary and in the public interest that said land be taken by condemnation through the City's Power of Eminent Domain for such use and the City Manager, City attorney, and other appropriate city officials are hereby directed to proceed with the necessary legal steps to accomplish such objectives.
