AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TWO PRIOR ORDINANCES PASSED AT THE SAME
TIME, ONE BEING THE AUTOMATIC AMUSEMENT DEVICE ORDINANCE AND.
THE OTHER BEING THE BILLIARD OR POOL TABLE ORDINANCE AND BOTH
CONTAINING DEFINITIONS PROVIDING FOR THE ,LEVY AND COLLECTION OF
AN OCCUPATIONAL TAX AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER PROVISIONS AND RE-
PEALING ALL ORDINANCES, OR PORTIONS THEREOF, IN CONFLICT WITH
THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS.
Section 1: The heretofore enacted Billiard or Pool Table Ordinance, specifi-
cally Section 4 thereof, providing for License fees in the amount of $60.00 for each
license issued and a like sum for each renewal thereof and Section 3 of the Mechanical
Amusement Device Ordinance providing for an annual license fee i n the amount of
$60.00 are hereby ordained to be mutually exclusive in that no person, firm, association
of persons, corporations or other organizations required by the aforementioned two ordin-
ances to pay such license fees shall be required to pay both. The payment of one license
fee under one of the aforesaid ordinances shall constitute compliance with both of said
ordinances.
Section 2: The City Manager and others authorized to act on behalf of the City
of Georgetown are hereby authorized and directed to make any refunds that may be
applicable upon the passage of this ordinance.
Section 3: The effective date of this ordinance shall be the same as the effective
date of the aforementioned Billiard or Pool Table Ordinance and the Mechanical Amuse-
ment Device Ordinance.
Section 4: It appearing that an emergency exists in that certain persons have
been required to pay a duplicate license fee under one of the above-mentioned ordinances
and that said sum should be refunded to such licensee but such refund cannot be made
until the passage of this Ordinance amending said Amusement Ordinances as aforesaid
and therefore this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its first reading.
