HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 05.10.1976 - Personnel Actb8 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR MATCHING FUNDS UNDER THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL ACT OF 1970 GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Personnel Act was signed into law in January 1971 and, WHEREAS, the U. S. Civil Service Commission is authorized to make grants to assist State and Local governments in strengthening their central management capability by improving their personnel systems and, WHEREAS, the U. S. Civil Service Commission has allocated approximately $310,000.00 to be subgranted by the Texas Department of Communi ty Affairs to cities and counties in Texas to enable them to strengthen or develop their personnel systems and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown,. Texas has identified the need to develop and strengthen their personnel system and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas possesses legal authority to apply for the grant. BE IT RESOLVED, -therefore that the City of Georgetown, Texas is authorized to file an application for matching funds under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act of 1970 grant program,, including all assurances and understandings contained therein. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Leo Wood, City Manager of the City of Georgetown, Texas, be identified as the official representative of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and that he is authorized and directed to act in connection with the application and to provide such additional information as may be required.
