HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 03.08.1976 - Urban RenewalRESOLUTION A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A DEED EXECUTED BY THE CHAIRMAN AND SECRETARY OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE URBAN RENEWAL AGENCY OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, CONVEYING THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A" ATTACHED HERETO, TO THE MAYOR AND MEM- BERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, AND THEIR SUCCESSORS IN OFFICE; AND AGREEING THAT SUCH PROPERTY SHALL BE DEVOTED TO PUBLIC PURPOSES ONLY AND NO OTHER. WHEREAS, a Resolution was adopted on April 13, 1968, by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, approving the Urban Renewal Plan; and WHEREAS, said Urban Renewal Plan calls for certain portions of land to be dedicated to the Public; and WHEREAS, the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto is a portion of that property to be dedicated to the Public; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, deems it advisable to accept a deed executed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, conveying such property described in Exhibit "A" hereto attached, to the Mayor and the Members of the City Council of the City of Georgetown, and their successors in office; and to agree that such property shall be devoted to public purposes only and no other; now therefore be it 9- RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: t"r That the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, does hereby accept a deed executed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Commissioners of the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, conveying the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, to the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of George- town, and their successors in office, and does hereby agree that such property shall be devoted to public purposes only and no other. BEING 6.30 acres in the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, and lying South of State Highway 29 and West of Scenic Drive to the center of the South San Gabriel River and being part of the land conveyed to the Urban Renewal Agency of the City of Georgetown, Texas, and being more particularily described as follows: BEGINNING at a point where the West margin of Scenic Drive intersects the South Rt.O.W. line of State Highway 29, said point also being the Northwest corner of Block "C" of the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition to the City of Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, the plat of said Addition being of record in County, Texas, the plat of said Addition being of record in Vol. Page , of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas; THENCE S 88045'W, 178.11 feet along the South R.O.W. line of State Highway 29 to a point in the center of the South San Gabriel River; THENCE with the meanders of the South San Gabriel River as follows: S 01015'E, 251.41 feet; S 23036'W, 208.50 feet; S 39016'W, 245.00 feet and S 59016'W, 251.73 feet to a point; THENCE leaving the South San Gabriel River S 0005'W, 405.10 feet to the Northwest corner of the Joseph Holden Tract; THENCE N 89024'E, 88.53 feet along the North boundary line of the Holden tract to a point on the West R.O.W. line of Scenic Drive; THENCE with the West R.O.W. line of Scenic Drive as follows: N 0007'E, 55.07 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right; THENCE 129.72 feet along the arc of said curve to the right whose central angle is 54017' and whose radius is 136.92 feet long and whose long chord bears N 27014'E, and is 125.06 feet long, to the end of said curve; THENCE N 54024'E, 74.80 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left; THENCE 69.69 feet along the arc of said curve to the left whose central angle is 13015' and whose radius is 301.34 feet long and whose long chord bears N 47047'E, and is 69.53 feet long, to the end of said curve; THENCE N 41009'E, 575.34 feet to the beginning of a curve to the left, THENCE 117.00 feet along the arc of said curve to the left whose central angle is 49038' and whosa radius is 135.07 feet long and whose long chord bears N 16020'E, and is 113.38 feet long, to the end of said curve; THENCE N 8029'W, 205.24 feet to the beginning of a curve to the right; THENCE 106.18 feet along the arc of said curve to the right whose central angle is 7014' and whose radius is 841.06 feet long and whose long chord bears N 4052'W, and is 106.11 long, to the end of said curve; THENCE N 1015'W, 61.58 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING.
