A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS
AND ADVERTISE FOR BIDS TO CON-
STRUCT INDIVIDUAL AIRCRAFT HANGARS
AT THE GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has available twelve (12) "T" Hangar
units for rent to individual aircraft owners, and
WHEREAS, there are approximately thirty(30)additional aircraft owners who
have made application to rent individual "T" Hangars, and
WHEREAS, of the thirty (30) applicants, fifteen (15) have indicated their
willingness to lease a "T" Hangar for five years at approximately $90.00 per
month, and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Municipal Airport Board recommends that the
City undertake construction of individual hangars to meet the need of individual
aircraft owners because:
(a) More favorable financing can keep individual hangar rentals at a lower
ra te.
(b) City ownership will provide a higher rate of income for the City over the
lifetime of the hangars.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Georgetown
does authorize the City Manager to solicite proposals from construction contractors and
to advertise for bids to construct individual hangars at the Georgetown Airport. The
time and place of bids shall be at the regularly scheduled Council meeting in
February, 1981.
