HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 12.10.1906 - Civil & Criminal ORD RevisedAN ORDINANCE TO ADOPT AND ESTABLISH THE R£VI3ED CIVIL AND CRIMINAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GBORGBTOWN, TZU39 AND PROVIDING FOR THBIR PUBLICATION IN BOOS FORD. Whereas, it is expedient that the Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, should be arranged in appropriate Chapters and Seotions, and that the ommissions and defeats therein should be supplied and corrected, and that the whole should as far as possible be made concise, plain and intelligibles Therefore, BB IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texans Section 1. That the following Revised Civil and Crimin& Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas, as prepared by City Attorney D.W. Wilcox and Alderaen W.T. Starnes and H.W.Harrell, in accordance with the instructions of the City Council made and passed -on February 12th, 19069 and now here presented ready to be published in book form and composed of Chapters One to Fifty-nine, inclusive, and Sections One to Three Hundred and Fifty-seven, in- clusive, shall constitute the Revised Civil and Criminal Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas. Section 2. That there be and is hereby ordered printed and published in book form with proper index thereto Two Hundred copies of said Revised Civil and Criminal Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances of a general nature, that conflict with said Revised Civil and Crimi- nal Ordinances of the City of Georgetown, Texas be, and the same are hereby repealed, but such repeal shall not affect any ordin- ance providing for the levy or assessment of any tax, general or special, or any ordinance ordering improvement of any kind, or granting any franchise, or any ordinance of a special or contract nature of any kind. Section 4. That the provisions of the said Revised Civil and Criminal Ordinances so far as they are substantially the same as the ordinances of said City in force at the time these ordi- nances shall go into effect shall be construed as a continuation thereof and not as new ordinances of this City. SY 5.1 Section 5. That the rule requiring ordinances to be read at three different meetings of the Council be suspended as to the reading of this ordinance. Section 6. That said Revised Civil and Criminal Ordinances of the City of Georgetowne Texas, shall go into and take effect from and after their passages approval and publication in book form.
