HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 11.12.1906 - BicyclesAN ORDINANCE REGULATING THH_RIDING OF BICYCLES, VELOCIPEDES, AND OTHER VEHICLES OF LIKH NATURB OR DESCRIPTION IN THH CORPORATH LIMITS OF THE CITY OF GEORGHTOWN, AND FIXING PBNALTIES FOR VIOL ATIONS OF SUCH REGMATIONS: BH IT ORDAINED By the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that: It shall be unlawful for any person to ride on any bicycle, velocipede, or other vehicle of like nature or descril)tion, on or along any street, alley, road or other public place in this city at a higher rate of speed than ten miles an hour, or along or upon any sidewalk in said city, or on or along any street, alley, road or public place in said city after dark without having a lighted. headlight thereon, or on or along any street, alley road or other public place in this city wilfully or negligently so as to ool- lide with or injure any person or team or vehicle or in any manner calculated to frighten such person, or team or the occupants of such vehicle, and any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined in any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars. All ordinances or' parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. PASSED AND APPROVBD this 12th day of November A.D. 1906, R.B. Ward. Mayor. ATTHST: Geo. Keahey, Secretary. �j
