Section le The office sof street Commissioner of the City
of g*orgetown„ Texavv is hereby oreat*l# and the City Marshal
of said City shall be ex -of k is io Street Commissioner and shall
perform all the -duties of the office*
Section 2s The Street Commissioner shall be the custodian
of the teameg wagons# tools and Implement* belonging to the
City and used for street works andshall roe to their safe keep*
Ing and return, and shall annually at the first meeting in
April of each year# or as soon thereafter as possible# make a
report tee the City Council$ giving an inventory of all such
waggns# teams# totals and implements on handand showing what
new <%.nos have been bought during the year aniwhalt became of the

requested to do see# by the C ou:7oile
Section 3e The Street Cowaissionar sha11 have the gen.
oral superintandranae of all street repairs and Improvements#
and it shall be his duty to superintend all work done upon the
streets alleys and public grounds of the City,# control all
workman thereon, keep anoount of the time and amount of work
and of the amount and seat of material# and make report thereof
to the Council whenever desired by the Council*
Section 4e It shall be his duty to see that the streets$
alleys and public grounds are kept free of filth and other
obstructions of all kind*# and he shall have charge of the
prevention of the erection of any obstructions is the streets#
;alleys or public grounds of the City, and he will remove or
cause the same to be removed# and he shall inspect such streets,
alleys and public grouids and sae that the ordinances and
regulations relating tbersto are strictly observed# and shall
report all infraotians thereof to the Mayor or the City Attorneys

Section !is It shall be his duty in case the City Council
contracts with private parties for any public works to gen-
erally supervise the sane and to see that said contract or
contracts are faithfully performed, and in case of any viol-
ations of said contract or contracts to report the same to
.the mayor or the City Attorney*
Section d* He shall confer with the Street Committee as
often as necessary in regard to work he thinks necessary to
be done and what teams and ensu will be required and he my
also make such recommendations to the Council an he deems noom
essary, He shall also at any meeting of the Counoil sage
such suggestions so he may thing proper in regard to the
improvement of any streets allays sidewalk or other public
ground, and to regard to the removal from any street of any
building or obstruction of a permanent natures and shall make
such suggestions as he say see fit in regard to the condem-
nation of any unsafe building or structures and all such other
suggestion* in regard to the condition of the streets, alleys,
sidewalks and public grounds of the City as he =V think
proper# and the Oounoil mfy require him to report at any time
and on any subject connected with the streets$ alleys, sidoo
walks or public groun,le of the City that they soy desire.
Section 79 It shtl be his duty to res that the streets
and publfa passage* of the City are kept in a * f* and passable
condition and for that purpose he shall have powiRr to do or
carie to be done at the expense of the owners of the property
whose duty it may be to make the repairs necessary to piaoe
and keep such streets or public Is ssaass In a safe and pass•
Ole condition by notice and otherwise as may be provided by
the ordinanoes of this City.
Section 8• It shall be his duty to see that all persons
or oorpirations, which have been granted say special privil•
egos in regard to such streets, alleys and public grounds of
said City* comply strictly with the terms of the franchise so
granted* and he shall report any infrt.otions thereof to the
Mayor or the City Attorneys
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed*
