TEXAS, 'WHICH IS TAXuD BY THE ORDINANCRS OF SAID CITY, WITHOUT
FIRST OBTAINING A LICBNSE THEREOF.
BH IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas thats
Section 1. Any person who shall persue or follow any oocupa-
tion, calling or profession* or do arW act taxed by the ordinances
of the City of Georgetown, in the City of Georgetown, without
first obtaining a license therefor, shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanors and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any
sum not lose than the amount of the taxes due and not more than
double that sum.
Section 2. The preceding section shall not be construed
so as to a feet any civil remedy to enforce the collection of
taxes.
Section 3. That any person prosecuted under the first
section of this ordinance shall have the right at any time before
conviction to have such prosecution dismissed upon the payment
of the tax and all costs of the prosecution, and the procuring
of license to pursue or follow the occupation for the pursuing
of which# without license, the prosecution was instituted; and
no prosecution shall be commenced against any person after pro-
curing said lioense, notwithstanding they have followed such
occupation, calling or profession before procuring said license;
provided, said license shall cover the time said person has act-
ully followed said occupation, calling or profession.
