HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 04.09.1906 - SidewalksAN ORDINXICE ORDERING THAT SIDEWALKS BE CONSTRUCTED ON CERTAIN PARTS OF B:IUM STREET, MAIII STYWMT AND UNIVERSITY AVENUX IN ACCORDANCB WITH THTC PRO, VISIONS OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE PASSED AND APPROVED ON DEC. 11th, 1905, BE IT ORDA11TED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown: It is hereby ordered by the City Council of the City of George- town, Texas, acting under the provisions of an ordinance providing for the construction, sto, of sidewalks in said City passed and approved on the 11th day of December, 1905, that sidewalks be constructed on both sides of Main and Brushy Streets between University Avenue and the Pub - lie Square, and on both sides of University Avenue along the whole length of saiu'A.venue; that said sidewalks be, constructed of gravel, the foundation or the bed for the gravel to be well packed, if the nature of the soil is such as to require it, then not less than two inches of coarse gravel shall be used, and then the top to be made of not less than two inches of gravel, which shall be screened through a one and one quarter inch screen, and there shall ne enough sand mixed with said gravel to hold it in place; that said sidewalks shall be constructed without curbs, and there shall be sufficient rise from the dutsih to drain all water off of said sidewalk, and ,said sidewalks shall be eight feet wide.
