HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 12.08.1913 - BondsAN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE of BONDS OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, .TEXAS, .FOR THE PURPOSE OF 0014PLETING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 'EATER WORKS PLANT OF SAID CITY, AND PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF A TAX TO PAY THE INTEREST AND CREATE A SINKING FUND FOR THE REDEMPTION OF SAID BONDS. Whereas, at an election held on the 15th day of November, A. D. 1913, the majority of the gtalified voters, who are property tax payers of the City of Georgetown, Texas, voting at said 4leotion, sustained the proposition to issue the Bonds hereinafter described, by a vote of 124 "for the Issuance of Bonds" to a vote of 82 "Against the issuance of Bonds". Therefore, late Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, that the Bonds of said City, to be called "City of Georgetown Water Forks Bonds, Second Series", be issued under and by virtue of the provisions of Chapter Ones Title 18, of the Revised Civil Statute• of Texas, 1911, for the purpose of completing the construction of the Mater Works Plant in said City. 2nds Said Bonds shall be numbered consecutively from One (1) to -Twenty-seven (27) inclusive, and shall be of the denomination of FIVE HUNDRED ($600.00) DOLLARS each, aggrega- ting the sum of THIRTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($130800.00) DOLLARS. 3rd,- They shall be dated the =day of - 191& shall beo4me due and payable forty (40) years from their date, but may be redeemed at the pleasure of the City at any time after ten years from their date. 4ths They shall bear interest atsthe rate of 8% per annum, payable semi annually on the day of and the day of of each year. 8th,- Principal',/ and interest shall be payable on presentation and surrender of Bond or proper coupon at the Office of the State Treasurers Austin, Texas, if said Bonds are sold to the State School Fund# but if not sold to the State School.
