AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE "ZONING ORDINANCE" PASSED AND
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, ON THE 12TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1968, AMENDING THE
ZONING DISTRICT MAP; AMENDING SAID ZONING ORDINANCE AND
SAID DISTRICT MAP AND MAKING THIS AMENDMENT A PART OF
THE MAP OF THE ORIGINAL ORDINANCE; TO CHANGE THE WEST
ONE-HALF (1/2) OF BLOCK 6, NORTH GEORGETOWN ADDITION,
DESCRIBED BELOW, FROM RS SINGLE-FAMILY DISTRICT, TO C-1
LOCAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS:
WHEREAS, an application has been made to the City Council for the purpose of chang-
ing the Zoning Ordinance on the following described real property:
All that certain parcel .or tract of land being described as the West 1/2 of Block 6 of
the North Georgetown Addition, a subdivision in the City of Georgetown, as recorded in
Volume 2, Page 95 of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and being that some
tract of land as conveyed to Maggie Newsom as recorded in Volume 460, Page 169, of
the Deed Records of Williamson County, Texas, and being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a fence corner marked by a 60D nail set in a 20" Hackberry Tree at
the intersection of the South r.o.w. line of Myrtle Street for the Northwest corner and
the PLACE OF BEGINNING hereof;
THENCE with the South r.o.w. line of Valley Street as found fenced and used upon the
ground, N 87031' E for a distance of 113.88 feet to an iron pin set at a fence corner for the
Northeast corner hereof;
THENCE S 03009' E for a distance of 241.09 feet to an iron pin set in the North r.o.w.
line of Morrow Street for the Southeast corner hereof;
THENCE with the North r.o.w. line of Morrow Street as found fenced and used upon the
fround, S 88022' W for a distance of 119.82 feet to an iron pin set at a fence corner in
the East r.o.w. line of Myrtle Street for the Southwest corner hereof;
THENCE with the East r.o.w. line of Myrtle Street as found fenced and used upon the
Bound, N 01045' W for a distance of 239.19 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING and
containing 0.64 acres of land; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has submitted the prposed change in the Zoning Ordinance
to the City Planning and Zoning Commission for its recommendation and report; and

WHEREAS, the City Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the changing of
said Zoning Ordinance on the above described property from RS Single -Family District to
C-1 Local Commercial District, after said Commission met and considered such matter on
November 4, 1975; and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearing regarding such amendment to the Zoning
Ordinance before the City Planning and Zoning Commission was given by publishing the
same in the Williamson County Sun, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of
Georgetown, Texas, which said notice stated the time and place of such hearing and which
time was not earlier than fifteen (15) days from the date of such publication; and
WHEREAS, no protest has been entered against the proposed change; and
WHEREAS, written notice of the proposed change and of the public hearing before
the City Planning and Zoning Commission was gien to all of the owners of all real property
lying within 200 feet of the above described property as required by law, and no protest
has been filed by any of said property owners; and
WHEREAS, all other requirements set forth in the Zoning Ordinance concerning notices,
hearings, and other procedural matters have been fully complied with:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN that the Zoning Ordinance and District Map of the City of Georgetown
be amended so that the property described above shall be, and the some is hereby removed
from RS Single -Family District to C-1 Local Commercial District.
