HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 79-37 - Abandoning EasementJ A55 ORDINANCE NO 79-37 ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING 25th STREET AND THAT PORTION OF CIRCLE DRIVE WHICH LIES SOUTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 6, BLOCK 3, AND TO A POINT IN THE WEST LINE OF CIRCLE DRIVE, WHICH POINT IS 105 FEET FROM THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 6, BLOCK 2 OF THE HIGHLAND PARK REVISED SUBDIVISION, ALL AS RECORDED IN THE PLAT RECORDS OF WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS, AND AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF QUIT- CLAIM DEEDS FROM THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS TO THE OWNERS OF PROPERTY ADJOIN- ING AND ADJACENT TO SAID ABANDONED STREETS BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas WHEREAS, a Petition has been received from Charles A Barns, Stephen J Shaper, Richard L Rotto, Georgetown, Railroad Company, the owners of the land adjoining 25th Street,and that portion of Circle Drive which lies South of the Northeast corner of Lot 6, Block 3, and to a point in the West line of Circle Drive, which point is 105 feet from the Southwest corner of Lot 6, Block 2 of the Highland Park Revised Subdivision, all as recorded in the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and WHEREAS, the Petition states that said streets have never been opened or used as a public street and the same was never used by the public as a public thoroughfare, and WHEREAS, Petitioners state that they are the owners of tracts of land adjoining said streets to be abandoned, and that they now request the City to abandon and vacate and close said streets NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that 25th Street, and that portion of Circle Drive which lies South of the Northeast corner of Lot 6, Block 3, and to a point in the West line of Circle Drive, which point is 105 feet from the Southwest corner of Lot 6, Block 2, of the Highland Park Revised Subdivision, all as recorded in Vol 3, Page 63 of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, shall be and the same are hereby vacated, closed and abandoned, and BF IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mayor of the City of Georgetown is hereby authorized and directed to execute Quit -Claim Deeds on behalf of the City, conveying the right, title and interest of the City in and to said streets, so that the portion of the streets being so abandoned, will be conveyed one-half as follows To Charles A Barns, Stephen J Shaper, and Richard L Rotto, the North one-half (N 1/2) of 25th Street, to the intersection of the East one-half (E 1/2) of Circle Drive, which East one-half shall extend from the Northeast corner of Lot 6, Block 2, to the center of Circle Drive and the intersection of 25th Street, the South one-half (S 1/2) of 25th Street will be conveyed to Georgetown Railroad Company and the East one-half (E 1/2) of Circle Drive from the intersection of a line from the Northeast corner of Lot 6, Block 2, and the Northwest corner of a lot owned by Georgetown Railroad Company, which lies 105 fleet North of the Southwest corner of Lot 6 READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE, this the > day of �7'` , 1979 READ, PASSED AND ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE, this the ? day of , 1979 ATTEST qty Si ecrei�a APPROVED BEFORE ADOPTION City Attorney G� jrAN DOERFLER, ayor C y of George own, Texas 56 RESOLUTION -WILLIAMS ADDITION UNIT 6 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Georgetown, Texas that CASKEY-THORNTON VENTURE, INC., owner of the hereon described subdivision to be known as WILLIAMS ADDITION, UNIT 6, IS HEREBY authorized to file for record in the office of the County Clerk of Williamson County, Texas, this plat of said subdivision attached hereto, and the County Clerk of Williamson County, is hereby authorized to file for record this plat of land.
