ORDINANCE NO. 79-24
AN ORDINANuE AMENDING THE UTILITY
RATES OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN
TEXAS BY PROVIDING CHANGES IN THE
GARBAGE RATES.
WHEREAS, all citizens residing inside the city limits of the City of
Georgetown receive garbage pick-up twice each week for a minimum
charge of $2. 50 per month; and
WHEREAS, all residents living outside the city limits garbage service
are charged a minimum of $4.00 per month for garbage pick-up once each
week; and
WHEREAS, commercial garbage pick-up varies in frequency and rate;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown currently picks up brush and rubbish
free of charge for citizens residing inside the city limits;
Now, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Georgetown, Texas:
1. All residents, both inside the city limits and outside the city limits
who live in an area receiving garbage service from the City of Georgetown
C4 shall receive garbage pick-up once each week. The minimum charge for
such service for those residents living inside the city limits shall be $2. 50
per month, and the minimum charge for those residents living outside the
s ; city limits shall be $4.00 per month.

2. The minimum charge for garbage and trash pick-up at commer-
cial locations shall be $9. 00 per month and said fee shall provide for pick-
up three (3) times each week of a volume not to exceed four (4) standard
garbage cans and a loading time not to exceed five (5) minutes. The minimum
fee for those commercial establishments desiring daily pick-up shall be
$18, 04 and said fee shall provide daily pick-up(six (6) days each week) of a
volume not to exceed four (4) standard garbage cans and a loading time not
to exceed five (5) minutes. Any commercial establishment with a volume of
garbage requiring more than five (5) minutes to be picked up shall be charged
an additional $7.50 for each additional five minute period or part thereof
necessary to pick up the garbage or trash.
3. All tree limbs, hedge cuttings, leaves and like materials shall be
picked up free of extra charge if such material is either placed in an approved
garbage container or cut and tied into bundles not to exceed three (3) feet in
length or 100 pounds in weight. Any brush not so prepared may be picked up
by requesting such service from the City of Georgetown. The fee for such
service shall be $5. 00 for each truck load or part thereof.
. . 4. All other ordinances or parts of ordinances not in conflict with this
ordinance shall remain in effect.
5. This ordinance shall become effective July 1, 1979.
