HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 79-05 - Leasing Rates at Airport296 ORDINANCE NO. 79-5 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING MONTH TO MONTH LEASING RATES FOR CITY OWNED HANGARS, AIRCRAFT TIE DOWN LOTS AND BUILDINGS ON THE GEORGETOWN MUNICI- PAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADJUST THESE RATES ANN- UALLY FOR INFLATION OR DEFLATION BASED ON THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR CONSUMER PRICE INDEX -DALLAS WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas is the owner and operator of the Georgetown Municipal Airport; and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown does own certain Hangars and Buildings on the Airport; and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown does lease these hangars and buildings to private individuals in the interest of better utilizing the Airport for Airport purposes; and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown incurs maintenance and operating expenses associated with these Hangars and Buildings together with other common use facilities; and, WHEREAS, the cost of maintenance and operations increases and decreases at the approximate same rate as the Department of Labor -Consumer Price Index - Dallas; and, WHEREAS, a system of adjusting lease charges on an annual basis is needed for a sound financial Airport Management Program and, WHEREAS, the Georgetown Municipal Airport Board has studied the current rate and recommends increasing these rates for inflation incurred since they were established in 1975; therefore, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown that the following month to month leasing rates are established for City owned hangars, airport tie down lots and buildings on the Georgetown Municipal Airport, effective for- the month following enactment of this ordinance and authorizes the City Manager to adjust these rates annually for inflation or deflation based on the Department of Labor Consumer Price Index -Dallas: Facility Monthly Rate Potential Revenue Hangar A $250. $250.
