HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 01.09.1979 - Abandoning Easement279 ORDINANCE NO. 79-1 AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING AN EASEMENT LYING BETWEEN LOTS 16 AND 17, IN BLOCK 3, OF UNIT 1, OAK CREST ESTATES, A SUBDIVISION IN WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS WHEREAS, a petition has been received from J. Weldon Whitten, aka, Weldon Whitten, the owner of lots, 16 and 17, in Block 3 of Unit 1, of Oak Crest Estates, of Williamson County, Texas; WHEREAS, the petition states that the public utility easement running along and 5 feet either side of the common boundry between Lots 16 and 17 of said subdivision has not been used for any public utilities and that more convenient and servicable easements do exist, and WHEREAS, the petitioner states that he desires to construct a structure and fences that would extend across the common boundry line between the above mentioned lots and that it is desirable that said easement be abandoned and vacated; IN NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of rGeorgetown, Texas, that the easement described in Exhibit "A", is CO hereby vacated, closed and abandoned, except that the City of George- town reserves for itself or for any public utility company, the right to maintain, repair and replace any water, sewer or other utility lines presently located in, upon or over said easement. Read, passed and approved on first reading this 12th day of December 1978. Read, passed and approved on second and final reading this 9th day of January , 1979.
